A few years ago I noticed a beautiful old fashioned hollyhock blooming by my neighbors mailbox right beside the road. Judy had created a wonderful little garden right in the gravelly edge of the tar road. I harvested some seed come fall and the next year planted the offspring of her hollyhocks in my own garden.
I noticed this year that there the hollyhock in Judy’s garden is just coming up, but I have two eight foot offspring in mine.
